Blueberry cheesecake love November 28, 2010

There’s only one thing decent that I can actually make or rather bake in the kitchen and that is cheesecake! My brother and I love cheesecake, my mom, not so. So when I bake them, I usually end up giving away most of it because I know if I were to leave an entire cheesecake in my fridge, it’ll be gone with the wind in a matter of hours, or possibly minutes. I. cannot. stop. when. it. comes. to. cheesecake.
Since coming to the UK, I have been head over heels in love with GU chocolate vanilla cheesecake. I’m on a mission to lose some weight before I head home for New Year’s but place one of their choc vanilla cheesecake in front of me and I really cannot resist. They are seven spoonfuls of goodness (yes, I counted) that comes in a foil-wrapped mini glass jar. But my first love has always been the blueberry cheesecake so when I came across this recipe online today, I have to post this, lest I forget. Baking a kick-ass blueberry cheesecake goes right up on my list of top 10 things to do when I return to Singapore, it’s up there with trying the highly recommended truffle fries at Barracks Cafe. Oh and yes, some exercise too.
Maybe. If I can find the motivation.

Not the most conventional of advice but Walt Disney got it right! I think some of the most magical moments are when you see the child inside of a person. The wonder, the innocence, the lack of inhibitions and the silly.
“Sometimes our hearts get tangled
And our souls a little off-kilter
Friends and family can set us right
And help guide us back to the light.”
- By Sera Christann
I love this quote about family and friends. They are the ones who’ve walked with me, inspired me and have always got my back. Every single one of you.

Since the exams are just ’round the corner, I thought the images are especially apt. In the words of Audrey Hepburn “Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I’m possible.”
Stuck on my laptop is a heart post-it from dear Choon Yee that says ‘jia you!’ Juliet is my go-to when I need mints or a chocolate- she’s the library’s unofficial candy store on legs. It’s little things like these that bring reprieve and a smile.

My friend was just telling me earlier today that he finds joy in the little things and I think he cannot be more right. Methinks these fortune cookie messages are a perfect example. I don’t buy fortune cookies but I agree with Truly Smitten that it’s lovely to chance upon a hopeful message!

And here’s another quote that inspires me:
Love is everything it’s cracked up to be…It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for.”
