Some good music lovin’ April 17, 2010

Posted by silverlinedletters in if music be the food of love.

Lately, I’ve been listening to Ingrid Michaelson regularly on Youtube. If you were to ask me to pick a favourite song, I’ll never be able to come up with one because all of her songs really strike a chord with me… “Glass’ and ‘Giving up’ makes my heart ache while the upbeat ones like ‘the Way I am’ and ‘You & I’ are beautifully whimsical.

Here’s my Ingrid Michaelson mixtape:

1. Maybe
“If you have the last hands that I want to hold/Then I know I’ve got to let them go”

2. Soldier
“But then you opened up a door/ you opened up a door/ Now I start to believe in something else”

3. Glass
“And now we pass and just like glass/I see through you, you see through me like I’m not there”

4. Snowfall
“I want a snowfall kind of love/ the kind of love that quiets the world”

5. You & I
“Let’s get rich and build our house on a mountain/ making everybody look like ants/ from way up there, you & I, you & I.”
